18th of April: The day I became mannequin in London

Photographs from a Japanese magazine based in London interrupted our busy Afternoon Tea to take some pictures in the Modern Pantry. Candi requested me to set up a few tables on the first floor for them.

While I was fulfilling my duty, the photograph asked me if I could hold the tray with the wine glasses, which I refused because I am always afraid to break wine glasses in this way, but I offered to hold a couple in my hands, explaining it would look better – which is also true. Then he positioned me very closed to his camera, took a picture, asked me to “be more friendly”, so I smiled again but more friendly and he took other pictures.

Zoe, my lovely Zoe from the Pantry, Mandy our receptionist and Zoe our new manager and I had our staff drink on the terrace. I felt warmed after my one glass of white wine...

Zoe promised to take me with her at her parents’ home to have a Sunday family dinner and a walk in the woods. Mandy promised that we could go for trekking in June. And Zoe – manager – proposed to be my English teacher, since she has been English teacher in Asia for the last three years.

I went jogging before dinner: I have to get rid of a small –but present – amount of fat on my belly. I thought I would be poor and starving when I arrived in UK, therefore I’ve been abusing of every food I could get for free for the last month and I now have to calm down. When I was running, a Jamaican standing with a friend tried to be funny: “hey! Can I run with you! I have to get fit!

-          Yes! Come with me!”

So he started running and pushed for 10 minutes, then he surrendered but asked me to call him next time I would go for jogging. I got a new friend to run! Whoopee!

Then I was starving, thus I went to Waitrose to get some food for dinner. Tonight: Prawns in slowly warmed butter and garlic, such as Cubans do it. Amazingly.

Graziano called me two days ago but I missed his call because my mobile was lost somewhere in Zoe’s couch and I had not realized it was missing. We had a chat on Skype tonight. He told me he would see me only to give me back my 40 Pounds because he had a new girlfriend. Her name is Gabrielle. She is from Canada.
