DAY 10: Friday

I love my work. I feel like I am at the right place. I love The Modern Pantry. I love the staff. I love the food. I love the salary.

7:30-15:30
Work... Have I said I loved my work?

I think Jeff likes me. Jeff is the waiter who offered me wine and cheese yesterday. When I don’t know something about the food, he manages to have it for me from the kitchen. Today, I tasted Haloumi, a cheese that we serve warmed with spinach and broiled eggs. De-li-cious.

Who has told me I wouldn’t eat well in London? For the break, I ate cooked mushrooms and tomatoes, broiled eggs on toast with Vegemite (Suggested by Jeff who is Australian, actually) – see the link!, real bacon on the grill and a small cake (could not tell what it was made of: I had to eat it very fast, because I eat so slowly and then I feel guilty when everyone is done except myself!).

And Jeff gives me “clin d’oeil” when we meet, but the nice way, not the way that Italian men do! He is sweet... J

Something annoying: the 35-or-more-year-old manager of the night (with the Bentley and the McDonald) has been texting and calling me for one week. Yesterday I stopped answering. He wondered if he was bothering me. YES, YOU ARE. I answered that I was busy and did not understand was he was expecting from me. His awkward answer: “Glad that u r now working J be leaving my house in 10 min to the airport, we’ll meet when I come back J have a lovely weekend xx.” OK... I’ll definitely stop answering.

I like Spanish girls. French girls suck. Monica and I agree that we fuck them and take closets for us in the room. This morning, Monica invaded the top of the fridge as her closet... and they got hungry and started chatting in French, so she could not understand!

Zoe, a lovely girl at work, took me with piety and invited me for brunch tomorrow!

Oh. And I am getting Londonners' accent. We dont say Wa-ter, but Wat-A. hé hé...
