Tonight was a wonderful evening. It was Diego’s last shift, before he leaves for Spain, stops quickly in Colorado – his home town, and starts his new life in Panama. We could feel some sadness floating in the air, but expressed by everyone as love and lightness.
As we do for every day that a member of staff leaves the Modern Pantry, all the team had a glass of Prosecco in the afternoon, to wish Diego all success in his future life.
I feel so confident now with my duties. I know what I have to do and I don’t let anyone obstruct my way. I don’t worry about mistakes. If they happen, I correct them straight away without giving them much matter. I tell my 50 year old colleagues what to do and I spend as much time as I can in the kitchen because I love the chefs.
Rob likes me now that I show more confidence.
I love Luca. Luca looks at me through my eyes, and I like it. He pinches my arm to say he cares. He says: “Good girl.” Tonight he asked me:
“If I was ten years younger and single, would you go to the restaurant with me?
- If you clean the pass, maybe.”
All evening long, love was in the air. Rob threw a boiler of stinking fish water from a window of the second floor of the Modern Pantry... directly on Diego’s head, who was trapped by Luca.
I love Jorge as well.
From the beginning to the end, an evening filled with laughs, boys running like kids all around the restaurant, whipping other’s asses (including mine!) with clothes and cooking spoons.
On my way home... My first flat. Had to leave the bike in front of Barclays for Bikes to solve it tomorrow and jump illegally in a bus.
